Welcome to Comoros: Where Geothermal Potential Meets African Hospitality
The Comoros Islands are proud to welcome participants, experts, policymakers, researchers, investors, and geothermal professionals from Africa and around the world to ARGeo-C11 in Moroni.
Located in the Indian Ocean, the Comoros is a volcanic archipelago renowned for its spectacular landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and exceptional natural environment. Grande Comore, the largest island, is dominated by Mount Karthala, one of the world's most active volcanoes and a major focus of geothermal exploration in the country.
The volcanic nature of the Comoros provides a unique setting for discussions on geothermal energy and its potential contribution to sustainable development. The country's geothermal resources represent an important opportunity to strengthen energy security, diversify the energy mix, and support a more sustainable energy future.
ARGeo-C11 will bring together stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to share knowledge, experiences, technologies, and opportunities for collaboration in geothermal energy.
Under the theme “Unlocking Africa’s Geothermal Resource Potential: A Pathway to Sustainable Development,” the conference will provide a platform for technical discussions, capacity building, networking, investment opportunities, and stronger regional cooperation.
Beyond the conference, we invite our international guests to discover the Comoros: its volcanic landscapes, tropical environment, cultural diversity, and above all, the warmth and hospitality of its people.
From the shores of Moroni to the slopes of Mount Karthala, we look forward to sharing the Comorian experience with the geothermal community.
Welcome to Comoros. Welcome to ARGeo-C11.
