Phoenix Geophysics, International Exhibitor at ARGeo-C11 2026: Geophysical Solutions Supporting the Future of Geothermal Energy in Africa

From Geophysical Innovation to Subsurface Exploration: Discover Phoenix Geophysics at the Heart of the ARGeo-C11 Exhibition

The development of Africa’s geothermal resources depends on one fundamental question: how can we better understand the subsurface in order to transform energy potential into viable projects?
At the 11th African Rift Geothermal Conference (ARGeo-C11), taking place from 19 to 24 October 2026 in Moroni, Comoros, Phoenix Geophysics will participate as an international exhibitor, giving participants the opportunity to discover its geophysical solutions, engage directly with its experts, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
An International Exhibitor at the Heart of Geophysical Innovation
Phoenix Geophysics is an international company specializing in magnetotelluric and electromagnetic technologies, with solutions deployed across a wide range of exploration and research environments around the world.
Its technologies address diverse applications, including geothermal exploration, mineral exploration, oil and gas, deep crustal studies, active volcanism, hydrogeology, and other specialized geophysical investigations.
With systems designed to be portable, robust, and suitable for challenging environments, Phoenix enables field teams to acquire high-quality geophysical data in settings where access, logistics, and environmental conditions can present significant challenges.
Beyond measurement instruments, Phoenix also provides solutions supporting different stages of the geophysical workflow, from data acquisition and quality control to data management, transmission, and processing.

Why Meet Phoenix at ARGeo-C11?

Phoenix Geophysics’ presence at ARGeo-C11 offers participants a unique opportunity to move from theory to practical application.
Visitors will be able to:
• discover modern geophysical exploration technologies;
• engage with specialists in magnetotellurics and electromagnetic methods;
• understand how geophysical data can contribute to subsurface characterization;
• explore solutions suited to volcanic and geothermal environments;
• discuss their own projects and technical requirements;
• identify new opportunities for technological cooperation;
• build connections with an international geophysical technology provider.

ARGeo-C11 therefore becomes a platform where technology, expertise, projects, and partnership opportunities come together.
Technology with Direct Relevance to Geothermal Exploration
Geothermal systems are controlled by the complex interaction between heat, geological structures, permeability, and fluid circulation.
In this context, magnetotelluric methods can characterize the electrical properties of the subsurface and provide valuable information for understanding deep structures and hydrothermal environments.
Phoenix solutions are particularly suited to field campaigns requiring data acquisition in complex and difficult-to-access terrain.
However, the real value of geophysics lies in its integration with other disciplines.
Geophysical data need to be combined with geology, geochemistry, tectonics, thermal data, and other geophysical methods to develop a coherent conceptual model of a geothermal system.
This integrated approach helps progressively reduce uncertainty and improve the identification and prioritization of areas for subsequent exploration and development stages.
A Concrete Field Experience at Karthala, Comoros
Phoenix Geophysics’ participation in ARGeo-C11 has a particularly relevant dimension: its field experience in the Comoros.
In 2024, the Bureau Géologique des Comores (BGC), in collaboration with a Phoenix Geophysics team and within the framework of work conducted with STEEM, carried out geophysical investigations in the Karthala area, using Phoenix magnetotelluric equipment among other geophysical tools.
The campaign generated valuable subsurface data and contributed to improving the understanding of the Karthala geothermal system.
The promising results obtained from these investigations were integrated with available geological,
